In composing his photographs, he deconstructs a bouquet, laying each stem flat and fully visible, often juxtaposing scissors or other gardening instruments against the flowers. Each work is a beautiful exploration of the life cycle of a cut flower. Growing up, Stefl was strongly influenced by his parents, both of whom studied horticulture in the South of France. He now lives in New York with his wife and three children.
