Moomin The Moomins are created by Tove Jansson, a Finnish pictorial artist and author born in 1914 in Helsinki. The first of her novels about the Moomin family was published in 1945 and today her books have been translated into 44 languages. The main character of these stories is named Moomintroll, or Moomin for short. Moomintroll and his family live in idyllic and peaceful Moominvalley with beautiful nature and many little creatures.
